Responsibilities:
* Assist the Finance Director with daily finance department operations.
* Manage automated credit control to ensure prompt debt collection and oversee credit limits and new applications.
* Maintain orderly sales and purchase ledgers by allocating payments and reconciling supplier invoices.
* Ensure timely supplier payments.
* Provide administrative support including data entry and invoicing.
* Efficiently use accounting software and Excel for accurate reporting.
* Perform regular reconciliations and manage daily cashflow.
* Assist in preparing monthly accounts and financial reports.
* Supervise junior finance team members.
* Liaise with HMRC and financial institutions.
* Engage in implementing accounts payable automation in the future.
Skills Required:
* Proven experience in negotiation and managing customer and supplier relationships, with top-notch communication skills.
* Strong business sense with an understanding of supply chains.
* A confident and professional image for representing the company in external meetings.
* Excellent attention to detail and ability to analyse data and reports.
* High computer literacy, proficient in ERP systems and Excel.
* Initiative-driven, capable of working independently to deliver results.
* Team-player mentality, able to support junior finance colleagues.
* Ability to stay composed under pressure with strong organisational skills.
* Adaptable and flexible to change.
Skills Desired:
* Experience in the home appliance industry or wholesale/distribution.
* Familiarity with accounting software.
Job Type:
Start with a 6-month probation period, leading to a permanent full-time position upon mutual agreement.
Work schedule: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Pay:
£35,000.00 per year
