Applus UK is seeking a motivated and dynamic HSEQ Advisor to join our team at a major petrochemical facility in the Ellesmere Port area. Role Overview As part of the site supervision team, the HSEQ Advisor will play a key role in ensuring that daily operational activities are conducted safely and in line with the highest standards. You will collaborate with management, operational teams, and the clients safety team to address HSEQ challenges, identify solutions, minimise risk, champion improvements, and ensure compliance. Key Responsibilities : Provide daily advice and guidance on all HSEQ matters. Conduct Risk Assessments for operational activities. Perform regular site safety inspections and audits. Lead toolbox talks and internal safety meetings. Ensure prompt reporting and thorough investigation of site incidents. Communicate safety bulletins, updates, and lessons learned. Liaise with client representatives on HSEQ concerns. Attend and support client HSEQ meetings, forums, and initiatives. Manage HSEQ records and information. Prepare monthly HSEQ performance statistics and reports. Oversee the induction of new employees and provide relevant training. Support the planning of major shutdown projects. Work closely with the Applus UK HSEQ team to promote a positive safety culture. About You We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of relevant HSEQ legislation, standards, and best practices, ideally within an industrial setting. You should have hands-on experience with risk assessments, confined space entry, PTW, COSHH, and accident investigation. You will be a strong communicator with a proactive approach, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels and fostering collaboration across the site and organization. As this is a site-based role, you must be physically fit and able to navigate confined spaces and work at heights. Qualifications & Experience Essential : NEBOSH General Certificate or Construction Certificate (candidates with IOSH Managing Safely may be considered with relevant experience). Experience in a similar role within industrial sectors (e.g., oil & gas, nuclear, utilities, or engineering). Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Full UK driving license. Desirable : Environmental qualification (e.g., IEMA Certificate). Familiarity with the NDT & Inspection Industry. Knowledge of quality management systems and techniques. Understanding of international standards (ISO 9001/14001/45001).
