Foundation Learning Lecturer
Full Time – Permanent
Salary Range: £28,557 to £34,082 per annum depending on experience
The Isle of Wight College is looking to recruit an inspirational Foundation Learning Lecturer to the delivery of Functional Skills and GCSE English and Maths to our learners, within the ability range Entry level to GCSE. You will also contribute to the development of our student’s employability and wider life/independence skills.
About the role
You will be working with a grade 1 team with learners with a range of needs including: high SEN needs (education, health care plans), emotional and social difficulties, NEET learners (not in employment, education or training) and more vulnerable young adult learners. You will work to re-engage these learners back into education and support their motivation to progress and succeed in employment.
About you
To succeed in this role, you will have the following:
1. Minimum Level 3 Vocational qualification or equivalent
2. A relevant teaching qualification or willing to work towards
3. An in-depth knowledge of working within this area of teaching
4. An in-depth knowledge of the potential barriers to learning
5. Relative experience with safeguarding and managing such issues
6. Good planning, preparation and organisation skills
7. The desire to enthuse and motivate your students to succeed in their studies
