Non Medical Prescriber / Senior CYPMHS Practitioner
At Leeds Community Healthcare, we're hugely proud of the work our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is doing. Offering pioneering care, we are pushing the boundaries to deliver the best options to our Service Users. We are in a new phase of service transformation and are exploring and reviewing how we provide to children and young people presenting with a variety of mental health needs across the city of Leeds. We are committed to going beyond expectations by ensuring young people and their families are at the heart of decisions about their welfare, and the future of our services. In line with Local and National Targets, we are striving to provide a service in the most young person friendly way, intervening early to promote a better experience and better outcomes for children and young people. Our approach is progressive - from harnessing digital technology to developing joined-up, multi-agency working. We offer excellent training and development, plus a uniquely satisfying experience of making a difference. Join us and you'll too be a step.
Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an NMP Lead within our busy and innovative CAMHS service. You will be working as part of a large and well-established multi-disciplinary team working with children and young people and their families. We are looking to appoint a highly motivated Non-Medical Prescriber who is enthusiastic and passionate about working with children and young people with mental health difficulties. You will be required to hold and operate under an independent prescribing qualification. Your role will include working within regular clinics, offering a mixture of face-to-face and virtual/phone appointments as required by the needs of the individual client and that of the service. The specialist prescribing clinics within Leeds CAMHS most commonly address ADHD, depression, anxiety, and sleep disturbances in the context of mental health conditions. As a Non-Medical Prescriber within this service, you would be expected to prescribe for the range of presenting conditions whilst always practising within your field of competence. Clinical supervision by a Consultant Psychiatrist and experienced Non-Medical Prescribers will be available during clinic times and within regular group supervision sessions (held daily within each clinic).
