An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent Part Time Band 2 Clerical Officer to work in the Catering Department Catering Stores based at the RVI Hospital. You will be required to work 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 08.00 to 1.00pm.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and reliable individual to join our very busy team. You will be required to provide administrative support within the main catering department of the RVI hospital.
Excellent inter-personal and organisational skills are essential as you will be the first point of contact for patients, staff, and visitors.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate excellent communication, organisational and word processing skills. You will be required to work within a large multi-disciplinary team and be capable of managing a varied workload.
You should be familiar and confident with Microsoft Office packages, and experience of working within the NHS would be advantageous.

Main duties of the job
Your main duties will include:
1. Booking in goods on catering software.
2. Ordering goods in the absence of the Head store person.
3. Receiving goods and stock rotation.
4. Fulfilling requisition sheets for ward and catering staff.
5. Informing management of any product changes in the form of allergens.
6. General cleaning of the stores.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities:
* To provide efficient and effective clerical and administrative support for the Catering general office.
* To undertake overall daily menu collation and provide uptake reports to kitchen staff.
* To ensure all allergens are up to date and checked on a regular basis in line with the Trust's Allergen Policy.
Please note it is a requirement of The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust that all successful candidates who require a DBS for the post they have been offered pay for their DBS certificate. The method of payment is a salary deduction from your first month’s pay.
