Carbon60 are proud to be partnering with Lufthansa Technik Landing Gear Services to recruit for a Quality & Safety Engineer within the Quality department. Lufthansa Technik are a global leading provider of maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for the civil aviation industry.
This Quality & Safety Engineer position is on a permanent basis and has become available due to continued growth and expansion. In this role the successful candidate will contribute to the Lufthansa Technik Landing Gear Services Quality and EHS Department by maintaining a robust quality and EHS system that complies with EASA Part 145, FAA CFR, and other relevant regulations and standards, including ISO 9110, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001, while ensuring adherence to all Lufthansa Technik AG (LHT) requirements.
Role Responsibilities will include:
1. To promote and monitor compliance with LHT and LTLGS regulatory requirements and standards, and implement procedures and practices across the business to meet these standards.
2. To be Subject Matter Experts (SME) on the regulations and standards for the business for applicable area of expertise.
3. To perform internal investigations as to determine root cause failures using LHT system Q/star and develop effective solutions with the action owner.
4. To work in collaboration with the ProX process centre on development of processes including Regulation Management as part of the Maintenance Organisation Exposition.
5. Where required work with Training Department on the control of authorisation of employees and maintaining the employee rosters and competence.
6. To maintain accuracy of documentation within the quality system and to use the required LHT systems where applicable.
7. To train new employees in departmental tasks.
Skills and Experience required:
1. Experience of EASA Part 145 & 21J and FAA CFR 145 requirements.
2. Experience of working as part of a Quality Management System - preferably with an ISO91XX background.
3. Practical Investigation and working experience in Quality & Safety function.
4. Or practical experience working within a landing gear facility or similar MRO (3 years minimum).
5. Able to analyse for root causes and then create sustainable actions and improve quality.
