1 post available: 37 hours per week (6 Month fixed term contract)
The successful applicants will be entitled to 24 days Annual Leave plus all Bank Holidays (pro rata). We also offer a competitive work-based pension.
We are looking for an individual that has the energy and enthusiasm to work with adults with learning disabilities within our Day Opportunities service; based at the City Centre Hub, City College Peterborough. This role will involve supporting individuals with learning disabilities to maximise their potential, develop independence skills and undertake meaningful activities. Please be advised this post is not term time hours and will involve working 5 days per week Monday – Friday.
You will work to promote a person-centred approach encouraging independence and the empowerment of people using services. You will assist with the planning, facilitating, and evaluating of a range of activities both on-site and in the local community.
You will have good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to deal confidently with a variety of situations, whilst adhering to individual care and support plans. You will have an awareness of the challenges facing people with learning disabilities and autism and be able to support individuals with their physical, emotional, and behavioural needs.
You will work alongside other team members to support individuals with all aspects of personal care, to ensure individuals are able to maximise independence. You will have effective inter-personal skills and be confident using a computer to log case files and complete relevant paperwork. You will have the ability to use your initiative, prioritise, and liaise with a range of other professionals. You will have the ability to work as part of a team, or individually, and be able to assist supported people on our transport.
