Role: IT Innovation Manager (Legal Tech)

My client is a growing Law Firm in London and due to continued growth, they are looking to add an IT Innovation Manager to their team, which will be a brand new position for the company. The IT Innovation Manager will bring a competitive edge to the business, offering creative client-facing and operational technology solutions. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in legal technology innovation and a keen appetite for cutting-edge legal technology that can help them build a positive reputation in the area, keep them ahead of industry trends, and engage with the whole firm.
Key Responsibilities
1. Advise the Management Board, partners, and practice management team on the trends in the legal technology market.
2. Spearhead their internal Technology Innovation Group and work collaboratively with the IT team and Head of IT to keep abreast of developments across the legal technology market.
3. Track key competitor and industry developments and recommend strategic action.
4. Identify opportunities for legal technology solutions and platforms in the legal market that will complement their business strategy.
5. Review the life-cycle of litigation and operational tasks across the business and identify objectives and solutions that will lead to the introduction of new AI solutions and/or other platforms and thereafter lead on the projects from implementation and delivery through to promotion of the new systems or tools.
6. Create, develop, pilot, and roll out client and operational business solutions to drive efficiency and collaboration.
7. Document and process automation to save time and cost across the business.
8. Lead on demonstrations, training, and workshops, facilitate consultations by listening to what users need, and communicate with users on projects across the firm to ensure that everyone better understands our available technology and platforms.
9. Draft and work within financial budgets.
Person Specification
1. At least 5 years working in IT innovation, including at least 2 years' experience working with Legal IT solutions.
2. An excellent understanding of the legal services sector.
3. A creative and engaging personality, able to communicate IT solutions to lawyers.
4. Professional and positive demeanour.
5. Change management and software implementation experience.
6. Team-oriented approach, sharing ideas and being curious.
7. Personal drive to improve and develop own self.
