Who are Dougie Mac?
We are an all age hospice providing care free of charge to adults, young adults and children living with a life-limiting illness Stoke-on-Trent, North Staffordshire and the surrounding villages; we also offer supportive wrap-around care for their families and carers. Without our amazing family of volunteers we simply couldn’t continue to provide, or fund, our care services.
Our shops are an absolutely vital way we raise income to allow us to continue our specialist care services. With 21 shops in the local area you’re never far from your nearest Dougie Mac Store!

What will I be doing?
* Helping to maintain a high standard of presentation on the shop floor.
* Operating the till and packaging purchases.
* Signing up supporters to our Gift Aid scheme.
* Assisting with displaying and merchandising stock.
* Maintaining our high level of customer service.
* Helping to sort through donations of bric-a-brac, clothing and accessories.
* Preparing them for the shop floor by sizing, and hanging.
* Price items appropriately by considering the condition and brand.
* Recycle items that are unsuitable for sale.

What skills will you need?
The ideal person will be reliable, trustworthy, friendly, and good with people. Formal qualifications or previous experience are not necessary. Customer service experience can be developed, if that is a skill you are looking for, as well as cash handling and operating a till. Please note: You will also be required to complete essential Health and Safety awareness training.
What will I have to wear?
A volunteer badge must be worn at all times with smart / sensible clothing and footwear appropriate to the job role.
How much availability and time commitment do I need to give?
A 3-4 hour slot during our shops opening hours.
