An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Manager for the Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) team for a 12 month secondment. The post holder will function as an autonomous expert clinical practitioner within the specialty of Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) acting as a clinical and professional resource. They will deliver direct patient care whilst managing, leading, co-ordinating and overseeing nursing practice ensuring that clear communication and organisation within the PD team is maintained.
They will work in partnership with SATH Renal Unit Managers, Clinical team, and wider national or regional teams taking the lead role in the co-ordination and delivery of PD and the promotion of home dialysis therapies. They will take the responsibility for the introduction of new modes of therapy, formulation of policies, procedures, standards and operational strategies relating to PD and will ensure the efficient and effective utilisation of resources to deliver optimum quality care.
The post holder will develop evidence based practice and take responsibility for the supervision, training and management of staff. The role is full time hours, however this is negotiable.
Main duties of the job
1. The post holder will require expert knowledge within the PD field and possess excellent communication and leadership skills.
2. Leading innovation, demonstrating clinical expertise within PD and acting as a role model to team members and the wider renal teams.
3. To take overall responsibility of the PD service, ensuring high standards of care in line with national guidance, promoting home therapies and driving to grow and develop the PD program.
4. Manage the PD program ensuring staff have a clear understanding of their duties and responsibilities and the standards of performance and conduct expected of them, and participating in management issues.

The PD team is a small, friendly, specialist team motivated to maintain high standards of patient care while working harmoniously alongside each other and members of the wider renal and medical teams.
