Job Title: Consultant Clinical Psychologist

The Role:
We have an exciting and unique opportunity for the role of Consultant Clinical Psychologist to join our team here at Associated Wellbeing to oversee the psychological needs of children in our homes. We work with children aged 8 - 17 who have complex trauma, and/or additional social, emotional and mental health needs. Our referrals come from various sources, predominantly Children's Social Care and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services.
The Clinical Psychologist will play a part in identifying, providing and promoting appropriate means of support to the clinical team. Associated Wellbeing is a mental health service for young people that blends psychological, psychotherapeutic and psychosocial support with pharmacological treatment. A very rewarding role in the sense that you are able to see the progress of the children you are supporting.

Our ideal candidate:
1. Post-graduate doctoral level training (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) in clinical psychology, or counselling psychology, as accredited by the BPS.
2. HCPC Registration as Practitioner Psychologist: Clinical Psychologist.
3. Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course and presenting with the full range of clinical severity around mental health concerns.
4. Experience of delivering evidence-based treatment using a range of modalities in a number of cultural contexts.
5. Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision.
6. Empathetic to people and kind.
7. Good communication skills.
8. A desire to genuinely help other people and make a difference.
9. Honesty and integrity.
10. Kind, caring and compassionate.
Key responsibilities:
1. To join the multi-disciplinary Service in the delivery of mental health care to children and young people and their families, including involvement in the multi-disciplinary assessment pathway.
2. To manage a small team of DBT therapists.
3. To provide specialist psychological and/or mental health input to children and young people and their families/carers.
4. To provide specialist psychological assessment, formulation and therapy.
5. To offer advice and consultation on clients' psychological care to colleagues from all disciplines and to individuals external to us.
6. To support the psychological assessment and therapy provided by other professionals and to offer supervision as agreed per job plan.
