An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent Band 7 Sister/Charge Nurse on ward 26 which is predominantly Gynaeoncology, Gynaecology, Surgical and Orthopaedic patients. We are seeking an experienced individual who is highly motivated, enthusiastic and passionate about joint leadership in the provision of high quality care to this wide spectrum group of patients. Working closely with the line management team including Matron and Clinical Nurse Specialists, you will contribute to the appropriate assessment and treatment for this specialist groups of patients.
The ward is a busy area with a high turnover of both emergencies and elective pathways. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall care of the patients within the ward, being of high quality whilst ensuring effective planning and implementation of care needs.
Main duties of the job
Responsible for the patient's clinical journey along agreed patient care pathways, supported by evidence-based practice.
Responsible for the effective and efficient operational management of the ward/dept
To provide the highest standard of safe, effective and compassionate care through the effective use of evidence-based practice in line with agreed local and national standards and the NMC Code.
To provide a continuously improving service in line with the clinical governance framework, Trust objectives, and the NHS performance framework
To provide clinical leadership, expertise, advice and support to the nursing and multi -professional team to facilitate the effective delivery of care to patients at all times.

* RN with current NMC Registration
* Degree in Nursing Studies
* Leadership and Management qualification
Experience
* Significant band 6 experience (minimum 2 years)
