The successful Principal Electronics Engineer is responsible for the design and development of electronics for instrumentation and acoustics applications.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide support to the Director of Engineering to coordinate Electronics Engineering projects and tasks.
2. Provide guidance to staff to ensure the engineering team completes project assignments on time and within budgets.
3. Mentor and develop the Engineering team.
4. Participate in risk assessments and mitigating activities.
5. Provide design reviews and give technical recommendations.
6. Participate in technical audits and ensure recommendations are implemented.
7. Develop and provide technical standards and guidance in all software design and development.
To be successful in this role of Principal Electronics Engineer, we would love to speak to anyone who has experience in:
1. Expertise in analogue and digital circuit design, preferably in an instrumentation development environment.
2. Mixed signal design including pre-amplifiers, filters, power supplies, interfacing, and analogue-digital conversion for precision instrumentation applications.
3. Some experience or knowledge of microcontroller-based circuit design and embedded software (essential).
4. Some experience or knowledge of FPGA-based circuit design (desirable).
5. Ability to work independently or as a member of a team, contributing to all aspects of the product development cycle from requirement analysis through design & development into production.
6. Capability to produce design documentation and test specifications.
