Minimum Requirements
* Degree Qualified (or experience equivalent to a degree).
* Full Member of relevant professional institution (e.g. IEMA). Relevant Chartered status.
* Full driving licence and willing to travel.
* DBS check will be required prior to appointment.
* Significant environmental and sustainability management experience in the construction industry on large infrastructure projects or equivalent, comparable industry/projects (over 7 years).
* Strong demonstrable leadership skills essential, with experience managing teams in a complex matrix organisation.
* Project management and commercial/contract management experience required.
Job Responsibilities
Reporting to the Haweswater Aqueduct Resilience Programme (HARP) Senior Environment and Sustainability Manager and the Project Management team, the main purpose of the role is to:
* Manage all sustainability aspects of the HARP project in line with both project requirements, the STRABAG management system and strategy.
* Manage project related sustainability requirements in line with client and business needs.
* Manage delivery of projects in line with the STRABAG ESMS and the STRABAG Environment and Sustainability Strategy.
* Appoint a suitable amount of time to project visits, undertake inspections, gathering and sharing best practice, upskilling and educating project teams.
* Manage and provide support to project teams through the entire lifecycle of projects including design, bidding, delivery etc.
* Maintain records to support compliance with legislation, STRABAG requirements and Client requirements.
* Support the wider STRABAG business when required in knowledge sharing, bid support, strategy support etc.
* Actively work with the supply chain and procurement team to ensure principles associated with ISO20400 are adhered to and complied with.
* Manage delivery of all contracts in line with PAS2080.
* Gather, compile and report upon project specific information in line with STRABAG KPIs and the ESMS, including information required to fulfil various ISO certification requirements.
* Support, mentor, develop and upskill existing and new Environment & Sustainability team members.
* Participate in working groups and forums as required.
* Support the Director of Environment and Sustainability when required.
* Review trends, develop improvement initiatives and implement as required.
* Manage and carry out regular inspections/audits of sites and workplaces to determine whether work is being carried out in accordance with STRABAG policies and procedures.
