Are you looking to start a new career with a great company? We are looking for a Process Worker to join our team of Operatives in our Hire Division based in Newcastle. In this role you will refurbish and fit out the complete range of Portakabin buildings to the highest possible standards.
You will also be responsible for assembling and installing manufactured components to agreed design specifications and tolerances. This includes the safe handling, moving, installing, and finishing to specification and within deadlines under the guidance of a line manager.
Role Details
* Hourly Rate: £14.85ph + additional hourly rate between £0.24 p/h to £4.19 p/h based on skill set and behaviours.
* Role based: Portakabin Limited, Team Valley Industrial Estate, Earls Way, Gateshead, NE11 0LA
* Contract type: Permanent
* Annual leave: 24 days of annual leave plus bank holidays
* Hours of Work: 39 hours per week, 0745 to 1630 hours Monday to Thursday and 0745 to 1530 hours on Fridays, with 45 mins for lunch each day (unpaid)
Role Responsibilities
1. Ensure compliance with relevant Health and Safety practices and all applicable legislation.
2. Plan and undertake the preparation/decoration of all external product surfaces.
3. Apply internal finishing such as internal partitions, trims, configure interior layout, painting.
4. Carry out basic joinery tasks inclusive of partition walls, doors, windows etc.
5. Carry out basic plumbing tasks inclusive of sink and toilet assembly, waste and drainage, copper and push fit fittings etc confirming drawing details.
6. Undertake basic electrics inclusive of installing trunking and cable runs, sockets, heaters, lighting etc, supporting in the preparation and first fix, under the supervision of an electrician.
7. Prepare units for safe transport.
8. Install/Dismantle buildings e.g. connections to utilities, staircases, linkways.
9. Support craning in/out of buildings.
10. Be thorough in the separation and segregation of waste to meet environmental requirements.
11. Attend rectifications at client sites, interacting with our customers in a professional manner.
12. Assist where required in the general fitting out and refurbishment of buildings both on and off site.

Our Ideal Candidate
1. Strong experience gained within construction/related industry.
2. Ability to establish good relationships with customers and staff, building effective networks.
3. GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 or above (or equivalent grade).
4. Good organisation & planning skills.
5. Good level of numeracy/literacy.
6. Ability to accept and tackle demanding goals with enthusiasm.
7. Strong demonstration of integrity.
