We are a small business that punches well above our weight and are seeking a motivated Finance Apprentice to join our team. The role has real breadth; you will be involved in both the day-to-day finances and business operations. The role will provide you with exposure to many elements of the business and give you the opportunity to take your career in a new direction.
About You
Potential is what excites us, and we are looking for a finance apprentice who is passionate about developing a career within finance and eager to enter the world of risk management – an interesting career for decades to come! It would be great if you have already studied your AAT qualifications and gained experience within a similar role.
The ideal candidate can expect to learn at a fast pace within a supportive environment, working closely with our Financial Analyst, UK Finance Manager, and Chief Financial Officer. We want to hear from candidates who possess a strong analytical mindset, have exceptional attention to detail, and a can-do attitude.
What would be expected of me as the Finance Apprentice?
As a Finance Apprentice, you can expect to be involved in a variety of tasks and responsibilities that will help you develop foundational skills in finance. As you will be working across a broad spectrum of stakeholders, your ability and confidence in building relationships, collaborating, and managing your workload will be key to your success in this role. Your role will include but not be limited to the following responsibilities:
1. Preparation of manual journals – accruals, deferrals & prepayments
2. Invoice preparation
3. Assist in the preparation of financial reports.
4. Review employee expense claims and ensure they are correctly documented and within company policies
5. Liaise with clients and suppliers to resolve any payment or billing issues.
6. Provide general administrative support to the accounting department as needed.
7. Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and support.
Our Finance Apprenticeship programme offers the opportunity to study towards your Level 4 apprenticeship. At the same time, we will ensure that you develop your skills in creating, verifying, and reviewing financial information in an accurate and timely manner, all whilst remaining relevant, ethical, professional, and meeting legal standards and accounting practices.
Key attributes we are looking for:
1. Must have the right to work in the UK
2. Must have either a Level 2 qualification in English and Maths, GCSE Grade C/ Grade 5 or above, or equivalent
3. Effective self-organisation and ability to plan ahead, to complete tasks to deadlines.
4. A self-starter who is willing to get involved in a variety of challenges, bring a positive can-do attitude and open to identifying opportunities to get stuck in and try new things.
5. Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
6. Team player, able to work collaboratively with others and influence.
7. Strong self-awareness with a drive and commitment to own development
8. Strong attention to detail and highly numerate
9. Ideally candidates should have studied or be studying towards their AAT qualification

Location: Based in our UK office in London (Borough), we offer hybrid working (expected office working three days per week). The successful applicant must also be eligible to work in the UK as this position will not provide relocation costs or visa sponsorship.
