Safran Engineering is looking for a Stress Engineer for a 6m placement at Pitstone. Services must be provided Inside IR35 and we can connect you with an agency and umbrella company should you need it.
The job requires a detailed finite element analysis of stationary and rotating assemblies using Ansys Workbench. This will also require the ability to do hand-calculations to provide preliminary assessments as well as verifying the analysis results. The job involves working closely with the in-house design and stress teams, keeping them updated with progress and providing top quality deliverables, including presentations and technical reports, on time.
Requirements
We need an experienced stress engineer with the following skillsets:
1. Product, assembly and component level meshing, model setup and analysis in Ansys Workbench.
2. Linear & nonlinear stress, modal, harmonic and random vibration analysis of stationary and rotating assemblies. Rotordynamics.
3. Experience of explicit dynamics analysis e.g. using LS-Dyna will be beneficial.
Good understanding of:
1. Metallic, non-metallic and composite materials and their behaviour;
2. Damage mechanisms including plasticity and fatigue (LCF/HCF, experience with nCode is preferred).
3. Technical report writing in English & presentation skills.
