Role Summary Our client is seeking a Senior Associate – Tax & R&D to join the firm’s growing tax advisory team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse client base, advising on R&D tax relief claims, Patent Box applications, and broader tax advisory projects. You will play a crucial role in supporting businesses with tax-efficient strategies, ensuring compliance, and contributing to the firm’s innovation-focused tax initiatives. This is a hybrid role, offering flexibility, but requires the successful candidate to be based in Bristol, Cardiff, or Gloucester due to occasional in-person collaboration. Key Responsibilities Manage a portfolio of clients, overseeing all aspects of tax compliance and advisory work. Provide specialist guidance on R&D tax relief claims, ensuring eligibility and compliance with HMRC legislation. Support clients with Patent Box applications, offering tailored advice to maximise tax efficiency. Prepare and review tax disclosures for financial statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulations. Conduct technical research on tax legislation and present findings in a clear, practical manner for clients. Work collaboratively with internal teams to deliver comprehensive tax solutions. Provide mentoring and support to junior team members, sharing expertise and best practices. Requirements Essential: CTA, ACCA, ACA, or ATT qualified. Experience in corporate tax with a strong understanding of R&D tax incentives. Ability to manage multiple client accounts and maintain compliance with HMRC guidelines. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex tax legislation and provide strategic advice. Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to client relationship management. Ability to work independently while collaborating within a specialist tax team.Desirable: Previous experience with Patent Box claims (training provided if necessary).
