What You’ll Do as a Community Fundraiser:
Reporting to the Community Fundraising Manager, this dynamic and hands-on role is key to implementing the charity’s community fundraising strategy and achieving significant income targets. The role involves identifying and leading new community fundraising opportunities while cultivating strong relationships to encourage long-term support. You will actively engage with new and existing donors to maximise income potential, deliver fundraising initiatives, and support regular activities organised by the Community Team. Collaboration is key, requiring close work with the Marketing and Communications team to develop promotional materials and identify PR opportunities. You will also represent the charity at fundraising events, deliver impactful presentations, and ensure donor stewardship is handled with care, adhering to best practices and legal guidelines.
Additionally, the role includes maintaining accurate records within the central database, supporting the wider fundraising team, and ensuring volunteers are effectively engaged and supported. With a focus on protecting and enhancing the charity's reputation, you will adhere to internal policies, including safeguarding and GDPR, and complete mandatory training. This role is ideal for someone passionate about community fundraising, skilled in building relationships, and eager to make a meaningful contribution to the charity’s vision, mission, and ethos.
What You’ll Gain as a Community Fundraiser:
Becoming a Community Fundraiser offers more than just a job—it’s an opportunity for personal and professional growth. As you build new connections and expand your professional network, you’ll develop invaluable skills in relationship-building, supporting other divisions of the team, and gain immense satisfaction from knowing that your work is directly impacting people’s lives.
What We Need From You:
We’re looking for a dedicated and driven individual with a minimum of two years’ experience in fundraising, sales, hospitality, retail, or a similar role. You’ll have strong communication skills—both written and verbal—alongside excellent organisational and time management abilities. Experience using customer relationship management databases and delivering impactful presentations is essential, as is a commitment to continuous improvement and promoting equality, accessibility, and non-discrimination.
You’ll bring an empathetic approach, exceptional interpersonal skills, and a talent for building meaningful relationships. A positive, proactive attitude and the ability to adapt to changing situations are key, as is the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
This is more than a job – it’s an opportunity to be part of something bigger. If you’re ready to make a difference and thrive in a fast-paced, rewarding environment, we’d love to hear from you!
