Job Title: MEP Building Services Manager

Rate: £350-£450 per day

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced MEP Building Services Manager to oversee and coordinate the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) aspects of a large construction project in Tewkesbury. This role is critical to ensuring the successful delivery of building services from design through to installation, commissioning, and handover.
You will work closely with project teams, clients, and subcontractors to manage the integration of MEP systems, ensuring quality, compliance, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Coordination: Manage all MEP elements of projects, ensuring smooth integration with overall construction activities.
2. Design Management: Review and coordinate MEP designs, ensuring compliance with specifications, regulations, and client requirements.
3. Cost and Budget Management: Monitor budgets, manage cost control, and ensure the project remains within financial constraints.
4. Procurement: Oversee the procurement of MEP equipment and materials, ensuring timely delivery and quality assurance.
5. Contractor Management: Supervise MEP subcontractors, ensuring adherence to timelines, quality standards, and safety protocols.
6. Commissioning and Handover: Oversee testing, commissioning, and handover of MEP systems, ensuring they meet operational requirements.
7. Compliance: Ensure all work complies with relevant legislation, health and safety standards, and building regulations.
8. Problem Solving: Identify and resolve technical and design issues throughout the project lifecycle.
Skills and Experience Required
1. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, managing MEP services within the construction industry.
2. Qualifications: Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent). Professional accreditation (e.g., CIBSE, IET, or equivalent) is desirable.
3. Technical Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of MEP systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection.
4. Project Management: Proven experience in managing large-scale projects, meeting deadlines, and working within budgets.
5. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
6. IT Skills: Proficiency in project management tools, CAD software, and relevant MEP modeling tools (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD).
7. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address technical and design challenges.
