About the role
Balfour Beatty is offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager (MEP) to join its Regional Buildings team in the South East of England.
What you'll be doing
1. Monitor and implement the key contractual elements of the project against budget and programme, being Client facing with regards to programme/progress/design issues and responsible for the integration and dissemination of design changes and reporting on programme implications.
2. Create clear and attainable project objectives, building the project requirements, and managing the triple constraint for construction projects: cost, time, and scope. Ensure the project is executed safely, complying with CDM, H&S Legislation and our client's requirements.
3. H&S Chairperson - Chairing the regular H&S forum, Black Hat Supervisors forum and Monthly Workers Coordination meeting, including the dissemination of the actions arising.
4. Oversee the development, execution and presentation of proposals.
5. Oversee and monitor team based relationships.
6. Track leads via partner relationships and referrals in business development capacity.
7. Coordinate with Legal/Risk regarding policies relating to teaming, contracts and pursuits.
8. Attend functions in a relationship building capacity.
9. Help establish and manage client and team member expectations.
10. Support best value bid process with bid day activities and oversight.
11. Participate in the decision process for blending partners into winning teams.
12. Oversee global project team during project pursuit.
13. Training and staff development.
14. Assist as needed with purchasing.
15. Develop design deliverable schedule and be responsible for progress.
16. Monitor risk and budget as well as the contract deliverable schedule.
17. Review and approve deliverables.
18. Verify agreements with strategic partners, draft contracts to execution.
19. Inform Director and BUL of issues and status.
20. Manage design build process, serve as design manager and LLC staff when assigned.
21. Encourage employee growth by mentoring and managing development plans.
22. Develop documents and maintain the delivery process, coordinating with SOP.
23. Identify, hire and create development plans for individuals.
24. Build effective relationships with customers, design team, subcontractors, suppliers, and user groups that reflect and support company core values and meet or exceed the customer's expectations.
Who we're looking for
We are looking for a Senior Project Manager with:
1. B.S. in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred and extensive experience. Depending upon the project size, scope, and complexity, the years of experience may vary.
2. Demonstrable leadership skills with ability and willingness to face challenges, solve problems, and motivate others, while maintaining effective relationships with customers by meeting or exceeding their requirements and expectations.
3. Able to supervise and develop direct reports while prioritizing and delegating significant responsibilities to others.
4. Able to manage essential functions effectively by consistently driving for quality, profitable, safe, and timely results on the assigned project.
5. Experienced and familiar with team based delivery, contracting and the design-build process.
6. Demonstrates solid presentation skills and verbal/written skills.
7. Able to demonstrate proficiency using a personal computer (PC) and company communication tools, such as email, internet, and Microsoft products (e.g., Word, Excel, Office, Outlook).
