The Trainee Battery Build Technician will assist in the assembly, testing, and maintenance of battery systems while receiving hands-on training in a fast-paced, high-tech environment. This entry-level role involves working with components like lithium-ion cells, busbars, battery management systems (BMS), DCDC etc to support the production of high-quality battery modules. The trainee will also participate in quality assurance, equipment maintenance, and adherence to safety protocols while gaining foundational knowledge in electrical and mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities
Battery Assembly and Build:
* Assist in assembling battery modules and packs, ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
* Learn to work with components such as lithium-ion cells, busbars, and battery management systems (BMS).
Testing and Diagnostics:
* Support the execution of end-of-line testing (EOLT) for battery modules to ensure proper functionality and safety compliance.
* Assist in diagnosing faults in cells, BMS, and other system components.
* Equipment Handling and Maintenance:
* Learn to use specialized tools and equipment required for battery assembly and testing.
Quality Control:
* Follow all quality assurance procedures during the build process.
* Ensure components meet required standards before proceeding with assembly or installation.
Safety Compliance:
* Strictly adhere to safety protocols related to battery handling, assembly, and testing.
* Participate in training sessions to understand and mitigate risks associated with high-voltage systems.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Minimum educational qualification: High school diploma or equivalent. A vocational or technical qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering is advantageous.
* Strong interest in renewable energy, batteries, or electrical systems.
* Excellent attention to detail and willingness to learn technical skills.
* Basic understanding of electrical principles is beneficial but not essential.
* Ability to follow instructions, work as part of a team, and meet deadlines.
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-tech environment.
