We have an exciting opportunity for an Unplanned Care Lead to join our Primary Care team at HMP name, a category B Prison located in Bicester, Oxfordshire.
HMP Bullingdon is a male remand prison that has a capacity for 1,152 and offers 24 hours healthcare with an inpatient unit on-site.
Hours: Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
Salary: This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £57,603 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK on a permanent basis and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
What you'll be doing
As an Unplanned Care Lead, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
* Quickly and efficiently respond to emergency situations
* Ensure patients are assessed, treated, and transferred to the acute setting if required.
* Collaborate with other emergency personnel, medical staff, and prison operational staff.
* Function autonomously and within your sphere of competency, demonstrating effective team leadership.
* Manage a team of healthcare practitioners, including appraisals and development plans.
* Support with education and training.
* Support the Matron in undertaking audits and governance.
* Deputise for the Matron when asked.
* Assess patients, carry out relevant clinical investigations, and arrange follow-up appointments while offering advice and information.
* Have an adaptive communication style that enables effective communication with the senior clinical team at Bullingdon, the prison staff, and external stakeholders.

* Registered nurse – Adult or Mental Health
* Current professional qualification (NMC or HCPC)
* Evidence of Continued Professional Development
