In this pivotal role, you will work closely with the Overseas Patient Manager (OPM) to implement and manage the Trust's local and national overseas visitor policies. You will play a critical role in supporting staff, patients, and stakeholders by providing expert guidance and ensuring compliance with the Department for Health and Social Care (DHSC) Overseas Visitor guidelines. To excel in this role, you will need comprehensive knowledge of DHSC Overseas Visitor guidance and NHS charging regulations, along with strong investigative skills and experience in conducting interviews and gathering evidence. Exceptional organisational abilities are essential to effectively manage multiple priorities, while strong communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to engage confidently with a wide range of stakeholders. Leadership experience, including managing and developing small teams, is also key to successfully delivering the responsibilities of this role. Main duties of the job As an Overseas Visitors Officer, you will: Policy and Process Management: Implement and monitor compliance with the Trust's overseas visitor policies, ensuring accuracy in processes like pre-attendance forms, eligibility checks, and clinical assessments. Financial Recovery: Develop and maintain systems to recover payments from chargeable patients, while verifying documentary evidence for those exempt from charges. Training and Leadership: Lead the training of administrative staff in screening and compliance processes, and directly manage a small team, supporting their development and performance. Stakeholder Engagement: Build effective working relationships with clinical staff, senior managers, finance teams, and external organisations such as the UK Border Agency and Home Office. Project and Change Management: Lead on action plans for implementing updates to DHSC guidelines, ensuring changes are communicated and executed effectively.
