We are seeking a skilled 5G Protocol Stack Engineer to join a cutting-edge telecom engineering team. This role involves developing, integrating, and optimizing 5G protocol stack components, including layers such as RRC, PDCP, RLC, MAC, and NAS. The successful candidate will work on high-performance 5G solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation in wireless communication technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, and optimize 5G NR protocol stack layers (RRC, PDCP, RLC, MAC, NAS) in line with 3GPP standards.
* Analyse and resolve issues related to 5G protocol stack performance, interoperability, and functionality.
* Develop and execute test cases for 5G protocol stack verification and debugging.
* Collaborate with R&D, software, and hardware teams to integrate 5G solutions.
* Conduct protocol trace analysis and debugging using tools such as Wireshark, QXDM, and TEMS.
* Participate in 5G system simulations and contribute to performance tuning and troubleshooting.
* Keep up-to-date with 3GPP releases and industry advancements in 5G technologies.
Key Requirements:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
* Proven experience working with 5G NR protocol stack (RRC, PDCP, RLC, MAC, NAS).
* Strong understanding of 3GPP standards for 4G/5G (Rel-15, Rel-16, Rel-17).
* Proficiency in C/C++ and embedded system programming.
* Experience with 5G simulation and test tools (e.g., Wireshark, QXDM, UTS, TEMS).
* Hands-on experience in Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocol stack development and debugging.
* Familiarity with 5G Core Network protocols (NGAP, XnAP, F1AP) is advantageous.
* Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with 5G SA and NSA architecture.
* Knowledge of O-RAN architecture and interfaces.
* Understanding of virtualization, containers, and cloud-native architectures (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
* Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS).
