The Role
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and hardworking Senior Science Technician who has the necessary knowledge, initiative, organisational skills and attention to detail to support our Science department in their teaching of young people.
The core elements of the role include:
1. Preparing chemicals, materials, apparatus, and equipment for use in lessons.
2. Supporting pupils and teachers in practical lessons.
3. Maintenance of the school science labs and equipment.
4. Working in conjunction with teaching staff to develop new projects and to provide advice and guidance where needed.
You will have a deep interest in all aspects of science.

Qualifications
1. GCSE's grade A* - C, including English and Maths or equivalents - Essential
2. NVQ level 3 in Laboratory and Associated Technical Activities (LATA), or NVQ level 3 for Laboratory Technicians in Education, or Level 3 Certificate in Laboratory Technical Skills or equivalent experience - Essential
3. Ability to monitor, control and keep financial records according to the requirements of the school - Essential
4. Ability to offer professional guidance and assistance to students and teachers on the practical aspects of the curriculum - Essential
5. Ability to carry out risk assessments in relation to laboratory work - Essential
6. Manage workload effectively by preparing equipment and materials for lessons, as requested by the teaching staff - Essential
7. Ability to maintain accurate work records and inventories - Essential
