If so, West Berkshire Council has an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Principal Sport & Leisure Officer.
As Principal Sport & Leisure Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the Sport & Leisure Manager in the strategic development and management of sport and leisure services across West Berkshire. You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to enhance the provision of sport and leisure activities for residents of all ages.
Key responsibilities:
1. Oversee the development and implementation of sport and leisure strategies, promoting active and healthy lifestyles within the community
2. Assist in the management of the Leisure team to ensure the effective delivery of services
Work closely with partners to deliver sport and leisure projects, including identify funding opportunities and securing investment
3. Monitor and evaluate the impact of services, using data to inform future decision-making
4. Provide expert advice and guidance to internal and external stakeholders on sport and leisure matters
To excel in this role, you should have:
5. A strategic mindset, with the ability to think creatively and drive innovation
6. Experience in the sport and leisure sector, with a strong understanding of current trends and best practice
7. Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with a range of stakeholders
9. Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations
This role is fixed term for 2 years from start date– Funding limited project

17. You will also be entitled to a generous annual leave entitlement starting at 29 days per annum (plus public holidays) Rising by an additional 5 days after 5 years’ service.
