An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Ward 8 team on a 6-month secondment as a Clinical Sister. Ward 8 is a 30-bedded acute surgical ward specializing in Urology and Gynaecology. The ward is fast-paced and takes both elective and non-elective patients.

Main duties of the job
You will provide exceptional nursing care, undertake staff appraisals, manage attendance, and perform clinical duties. You will work alongside the current ward sisters and support the ward manager to ensure we maintain the highest standards of care at all times.
You must be able to demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and experience required for this position. You will be proactive in the ward's development, have a keen interest in the development of others, and be able to demonstrate ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice. This post requires a positive approach towards change and the ability to engage, support, and motivate others. Communication, resilience, and creativity are key.
We are looking for someone who has excellent communication skills, is adaptable to ward changes during the pandemic, can work under pressure, and maintain professionalism at all times. You will be expected to support the ward manager in ensuring ward KPIs, Model ward metrics, and STAQC standards are met daily. You will also deputize for the ward manager in their absence.

Leadership and Improvement Training
South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers leadership and improvement training to all new staff. This training program has been designed to support our leaders in developing their understanding of leadership and management skills. You will be expected to attend the following training sessions:

The leadership and improvement program aims to:

* Equip staff with the necessary knowledge and skills to lead and complete service improvements within the scope of your role.
After completing these six and a half days of training, you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities. We also offer a range of additional in-house and externally provided courses and bitesize programs through our Leadership and Improvement Team.

* Registered as fit to practice by professional body Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
* Evidence of Post Graduate clinical training/development
Experience
* Demonstrates clinical knowledge and skills relevant to the role.
* Evidence of MDT working
