Job Description
Our client is seeking a skilled Hydraulic Fitter to join their team.
In this role, you will build, assemble, and install friction welding machinery. You will work with mechanical subassemblies, collaborate with design and engineering teams, and ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Fitting and assembling machine unit assemblies (spindles, pneumatics, hydraulics, lubrication systems)
* Reading mechanical assembly drawings and hydraulic/pneumatic schematics
* Installing hydraulic, lubrication, and pneumatic systems
* Performing onsite installations, upgrades, and repairs at customers' premises in the UK and worldwide
* Operating machine shop equipment (millers, lathes, grinders)
* Communicating issues and solutions to the build and engineering teams
* Inspecting parts using precision measuring tools
Role Requirements:
* Strong communication skills and teamwork ability
* Proficiency in reading mechanical drawings and fluid schematics
* Manual dexterity, mechanical proficiency, and attention to detail
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
* Flexibility to work overtime when required
* Valid UK driving license and passport for international travel
Experience Needed:
* Mechanical Engineering qualifications (City & Guilds or BTEC)
* Previous experience as a Machine Tool Fitter or bespoke machine building
* Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and lubrication systems
* Machine shop equipment experience
* Problem-solving skills and continuous improvement passion
