ABOUT THE FIRE STATION
The Fire Station is a new state-of-the-art entertainment and hospitality venue in the heart of Sunderland’s rapidly developing cultural quarter. Our Auditorium, designed for live music, theatre and dance has capacity for up to 800 attendees. In addition to our main stage, The Parade Ground, a 600-capacity outdoor performance space with an external stage and outdoor bar has recently been completed.
THE OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for a dedicated and hard-working Bars Supervisor or Bars Assistant Manager who can lead and inspire our bar team, ensuring they deliver great drinks and cocktails with a high level of customer service.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new ranges of drinks including cocktails and will lead on selecting the product lines we stock, including wines & spirits, craft & cask ale. They will manage our weekly orders, monthly stock takes, and control our wet margin.
Our Bars Supervisor or Bars Assistant Manager will also act as duty manager on occasion, taking responsibility for our whole venue, including our restaurant. They will hold keys and be responsible for opening and closing our business, managing cash, and ensuring the safe and professional operation of our site during their shift.
Our business is very busy and dynamic, trading seven days a week with bars operating from 11am until midnight. 3 to 4 late shifts will be required each week, as will weekend working.
Requirements
* Passion and experience within the licensed trade
* Skill and expertise in drinks development, preparation, and service
* Ability to lead and inspire our team, coaching colleagues and delivering training
* Professional experience working in a similar quality establishment
* A steady and stable career in a pub/restaurant environment
* Able to accommodate shift patterns and commit to working up to a 45-hour week
* Remaining calm and behaving professionally at all times within high-pressure environments

Pay: £27,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
