This long-term, ongoing role offers the chance to shape a developing provision supporting children with autism, learning difficulties, and challenging behaviours. The position comes with the potential to transition into a permanent role for the right candidate.

Position: SEN Teacher
Location: M31 postcode area (precise location undisclosed)
Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday, term-time only
Pay: Dependent on experience
Duration: Long-term, with potential for a temp-to-perm placementResponsibilities of the SEN Teacher
Deliver and manage the day-to-day organisation of a developing school base for up to five pupils with ASC and complex needs.
Oversee and coordinate the work of HLTAs, TAs, and other support staff.
Teach and assess pupils, ensuring they access a broad and balanced curriculum.
Design, implement, and monitor bespoke educational and behavioural support plans.
Maintain detailed records and reports on pupil progress and base effectiveness.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver holistic support for pupils.
Manage transitions, including admissions and exits, in partnership with other professionals.
Provide training and guidance to staff on ASD strategies and inclusive teaching.
Escort pupils to community-based learning activities (a driving license with business insurance is essential).Essential Requirements for the SEN Teacher Role
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with proven leadership experience.
Experience teaching pupils with autism, learning difficulties, and challenging behaviours.
Ability to plan and adapt a differentiated curriculum.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
Driving license with business insurance to support off-site learning.Desirable Experience and Skills
Additional SEN qualifications or willingness to train.
Knowledge of TEACCH, SPELL, or other autism-focused strategies.
