As a Nurse, you will be accountable for the clinical delivery of nurse-led appointments and will be required to support the Vet with procedures as required, ensuring we deliver exceptional care to our clients, patients, and colleagues while maintaining the highest levels of regulatory and operational standards and compliance.
Remuneration: £31,800 - £33,920 per year

Join our team at Medivet New Cross! We have a fantastic team made up of three vets, two qualified nurses (this role included), and dedicated support colleagues. There’s lots of opportunity for nurse consults, and we will support you with training and internal CPD to build confidence and develop your consulting skills. To support your work-life balance, this role works to a 4-day week with 1:6 weekends. You’ll have a set day off each week, providing continuity to make plans and enjoy your extra free time! Our practice is finished to a high standard with everything we need to provide exceptional care! We're equipped with digital x-ray, in-house lab, and ultrasound. Three consult rooms, two theatres, and a prep room, plus a nice, spacious staff room to relax in during your breaks. New Cross is a highly sought-after area of South London, it's well connected and on the doorstep of Central London. The practice is situated near to the London Overground, Thameslink, and Southern Rail Lines. Our address is 9 Shardeloes Road, London SE14 6NZ.
Responsibilities
Client Care:
* Deliver exceptional care to clients, each and every day.
Patient Care:
* Support the vet with any operations or procedures when required.
* Carry out nurse-led appointments.
* Responsible for patient monitoring and care.
* Manage admissions and discharges for procedures as directed by the Vet or Lead Vet (depending on complexity).
* Ensure patient records are accurate and up to date.
* Ensure all pre or post-operation activity is completed.
* Provide everyday care for patients by carrying out appropriate walking, toileting, and feeding.
* Complete any patient transfers required to out-of-hours (OOH) care provider or for any enhanced care required.
* Responsible for dispensing and checking any medication required. All patient care is carried out under the guidance of the Vet/Lead Vet in line with clinical competence.
Standards and Compliance:
* Accountable for clinical compliance with all regulatory and practice standards and agreed ways of working.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
Commercial Performance:
* Maximise the adoption of nurse-led appointments to deliver patient care and maximise the capacity of the clinic.
Communications:
* Hold daily briefings and coordinate roles and activity to support the effective running of the clinic.
Clinical Administration:
* Take samples as required by and under the direction of the Vet/Lead Vet.
* Package and send off lab tests.
* Effective stock management including stock rotation, managing out-of-date products, and stock to shelf.
* Escalate any issues to the Practice Manager and/or Vet/Lead Vet as required.
* Ensure the back of house is set up and ready for procedures.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
* Must be an RCVS registered nurse.
* Able to work as part of a team.
* Supports nurse consults and understands how this contributes to the performance and efficient operation of the clinic.
* Able to deliver exceptional care to clients.
* Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of each and every colleague.
Our clinics are run by small teams who need to work together effectively to deliver exceptional care to our clients, patients, and colleagues. This means that, from time to time, you may be required to carry out tasks outside your normal duties, where you have the skills, knowledge, and experience required.
