Job Purpose:
The Commercial Finance Analyst will be responsible for providing support to the divisional management team. This will require you support the preparation of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) outputs. You will need to help package and present opportunities that will have a positive impact on value creation for the division.
You will report into the Divisional Finance Director and work closely with the team of divisional FBPs to support plans in key operational and strategic areas. This will involve interpreting finance performance, supporting key business planning, trade-offs, and opportunities, and understanding a dynamic industry, competitors, and economic context.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Support divisional FBP team in creating FP&A outputs including business plans, project and investment appraisals using divisional data.
2. Facilitate investigations into areas of opportunity for strategic recommendations.
3. Understand and translate financial information into tangible targets or actions, assessing financial implications of each action.
4. Assist divisional FBP team in preparing relevant papers for senior level meetings with stakeholders across the business.
5. Ensure adherence to accounting principles, internal controls, and applicable legislative and regulatory requirements.
6. Contribute to the development and management of divisional strategic plans, budgets, and forecasts.
7. Conduct variance analysis on financial performance against divisional plan.
8. Leverage business insights, scenario modelling and analysis to support development of financial models and drive commercial decision-making and complex problem-solving.
9. Create visually compelling stories for executive and leadership presentations.
10. Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and internal policies and procedures.
11. Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports.
12. Ensure a robust control environment within divisional finance, adhering to internal controls and regulatory requirements.
13. Identify opportunities to improve existing financial processes.
14. Raise feedback for potential opportunities to optimise and standardise methods and processes.
15. Ensure in-scope business partnering processes are documented and stored on the assigned shared location.
Skills & Experience:
1. FP&A, commercial finance analyst, or finance business partnering experience.
2. Professional certified qualification (CFA/CPA/CA/AAT/CIMA/ACCA/ACA or global equivalent).
3. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or other business-related discipline.
4. Strong English language skills.
5. Practical knowledge in business analysis, analysing large data sets and information management.
6. Experience in data modelling, and simplifying complex data into compelling, clear, and actionable insights using Excel and reporting tools.
7. Strong MS Excel skills with a proven aptitude to interpret customer and financial data.
8. Working knowledge of core finance systems, ERP and related specialty functional systems, frameworks, and functionality.
9. Viable understanding of finance business processes, accounting policies, and statutory accounting principles to ensure compliant FBP activities.
10. Working digital literacy with financial analysis and modelling skills.
11. Ability to work in a fast-moving environment with a proactive approach, accustomed to working towards tight deadlines whilst maintaining quality of work.
