The team…
The Older Persons Team are based within Gateshead Council’s Neighbourhood, Housing and Homelessness section. We are an out based team, covering sheltered schemes across the Borough of Gateshead.
Managed by the Older Persons Housing Manager, with support from Older Persons Housing Officers. They manage a mix of Mobile Sheltered Scheme Officers, Sheltered Scheme Officers and Extra Care Managers to support 1400 residents.
About the role…
* Promote the health and wellbeing of customers through our support planning and risk assessment process.
* Ensure that sheltered schemes are kept safe and secure by adhering to health and safety procedures.
* Maintain accurate information and administration systems for customers ensuring relevant documentation as directed is produced for performance management.
* Respond to emergencies on site and carry out home visits.
* Help co-ordinate and develop social activities and services on site to encourage active participation by tenants.
* Ensure that records and equipment are checked and updated as directed.
* Work in partnership with Gateshead Councils Care Call team and other agencies in the provision of quality older persons housing services.
* Work closely with partners and businesses within the building in the provision of quality older persons housing services.
* Other responsibilities allocated which are appropriate to the grade of the post.
