The Business Analyst is responsible for analysis activities required on large projects or programmes of work that support MIB\\\'s strategic objectives. This role involves collaborating with key stakeholders at all levels of the business up to and including C-Suite.The Business Analyst\\\'s purpose is to conduct and execute required analytical processes that enable MIB effectively manage Change. This could be from identifying and mapping User Journeys to full requirements elicitation of a new product/service as well as supporting MIB in identifying opportunities to drive business value through optimising processes, enhancing system functionality, and driving continuous improvement initiatives by bringing a holistic view of change.Key OutputsBusiness Analysis Understand the business context and customer journeys, utilising diverse use cases to define and design APIs.Define API requirements to support product functionality.Capture, analyse, and elicit business requirements to create detailed technical business processes.Break down high-level business requirements into epics and user stories (BDD & TDD).Participate in complex technical discussions, asking the right questions to simplify and clarify solutions.Conduct gap analyses, perform qualitative reviews, and identify usability issues with existing API products and governance solutions. Technical Analysis & Design Support the design of processes, frameworks, and systems to improve API quality at an enterprise scale.Apply expertise in API technical design, ensuring adherence to high standards.Work within highly transactional digital channels, such as web and mobile platforms.Maintain an appreciation and understanding of API design standards and technologies (e.g. JSON, XML, Swagger, RAML). Note: Hands-on coding experience is not required.Leverage experience with API management platforms, middleware, and integration technologies (preferably MuleSoft).Utilise API testing tools such as Postman and SOAPUI to ensure solution integrity. Product and Project Management Collaborate with Product Owners to manage and prioritise product backlogs.Work closely with development and QA teams to ensure delivery aligns with project goals.Demonstrate extensive experience across the full software development lifecycle (SDLC).Utilise common Agile tools, including DevOps and Wikis, to facilitate effective project delivery.RelationshipsQualifications and EducationSkills and KnowledgeDesirable qualifications/ technical knowledge Formal qualifications in Business Analysis.Working towards or have a project management certification for e.g. APMG, PRINCE2, IIBA or BSC.Knowledge or understanding of project methodologies such as Waterfall and Agile.Experience of leading BA delivery on complex projects or programmes (>£1m). Key Skills and Qualifications Proven experience in business analysis, particularly in defining APIs and technical business processes.Detailed understanding of API design principles and exposure to associated technologies.Working knowledge of API management tools, middleware, and integration platforms.Ability to manage multiple tasks, work collaboratively in cross-functional teams, and maintain a customer-focused approach.Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, including both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Proficiency in Agile methodologies and tools.Experience working with highly transactional digital platforms. Experience Ability to work within high-performing virtual teams.Builds excellent relationships with key internal and external customers based on trust and confidence.Interested in both short-term results and long-term goals.Awareness of industry standard development lifecycles.Has operated as a BA in complex insurance or equivalent organisations.Has operated both as part of wider teams and as a lone BA.Capturing business requirements in Epics, user stories, user journeys, process flows, etc.Ability to operate successfully across varied business functions. Approach Excellent communication and presentation skills - written and oral.Ability to deal with outside suppliers and represent MIB in a professional manner.
