Job Advert
This is a time of change within our communities and many of our tenants are facing difficult circumstances. The Council has recognised these issues and approved the creation of posts across the Housing Service to meet these needs.
This post within the Housing Property Team, will focus on assisting and advising our tenants on a variety of issues e.g., Damp and Mould to ensure that our tenants can best manage their homes.
This is an opportunity for colleagues working outside of housing to consider a career change, as on-going training will be provided.
We are looking for a hardworking, enthusiastic, dedicated individual who is solution focused and will use their initiative, experience, and skills to help us provide an excellent Housing Repairs and Maintenance Service.
You will be required to make decisions on all aspects of housing repair and contract related work based on observations made on-site and from information received. You will provide advice and support to Housing colleagues and our tenants.
You will carry out comprehensive technical inspections of Council owned properties, quantify repairs, provide accurate measurements, and issue work instructions on a frequent basis. You will also be required to inspect work carried out by contractors and act as necessary to ensure works are completed timeously and to specification.
Ideally you have a good understanding of social housing policies and practices.
