About the role
Background and details:
This role is field-based (Barnsley) with an on-site presence, reporting to our Redditch Depot. You will maintain and service Komatsu plant machinery while adhering to safe working practices. Additionally, you'll provide excellent customer service through regular communication with customers and the service office to update on progress. Reporting to the Service Supervisor, this position is ideal for someone experienced with heavy plant and possessing strong customer service skills.
Duties and responsibilities:
* Attend customer sites to perform pre-planned preventative maintenance, including but not limited to: completing accurate and timely maintenance, field campaigns, and KDPF replacements.
* Complete the necessary documentation (RAMS, Job sheets, etc.).
* Conduct a walk-around inspection post-service to ensure the unit operates at expected performance levels.
* Identify parts required for any additional work from the walk-around inspection.
* Keep the customer and your supervisor informed of your estimated time of arrival after receiving job instructions.
* Register your arrival on site and undertake any site inductions as per customer requirements.
* Complete a dynamic, site-specific risk assessment and method statement before starting work, following company and site procedures.
* Carry out all work as planned and agreed with the customer and service office.
* Complete all job-specific documentation related to standard service and campaigns.
Experience and Qualifications:
* Experience working with heavy plant and machinery.
* Experience working on customer sites.
* H&S training, including PPE awareness and use of hand tools.
* Experience delivering excellent customer service.
* Full driving license.
* Experience using field-based maintenance tools and equipment.
* Ability to problem-solve and work under pressure.
* Ability to work independently and on your own initiative.
* NVQ Level 2 in plant maintenance or equivalent.
* SPA and/or CSCS training (desirable).
* IPAF training (MEWP, harness, telehandler) (desirable).
