To provide professional leadership to Speech and Language Therapists and management of Trust Speech and Language Therapy services to ensure that a high-quality clinical service is delivered to service users, carers and their families.
• To be responsible for the management of Speech and Language Therapists supporting the delivery of corporate objectives.
• To have responsibility for ensuring and reporting on efficiency, effectiveness and quality standards for the wider team.
• To work with service users, families/carers and staff to provide education, information and support in the delivery of evidence base services.
• To lead and develop business planning for the Speech and Language Therapy team.
• To be responsible for the allocation and reallocation of workload for the team; adapting to unpredictable changes and demands on the service e.g. sickness cover or winter pressures, to prevent a detrimental effect on service user experience.
• To lead on the recruitment, retention and career development within the team.
• To contribute to Trust wide risk management and policy development.
• To work with professional development lead in extending the innovation and delivery student and apprentice training and liaising with the higher education authorities for all AHP professions.
• To provide a high standard of clinical intervention which will include a comprehensive assessment and treatment to service users and advice to carers and families, who may have complex conditions.
To participate in the management on call rota as deemed appropriate by the organisation.
