Coding and Care Navigation Administrator
Barrack Lane Medical Centre has an opportunity for a coder & care navigation administrator to join our friendly, supportive and professional team, on a full time basis for 37 hours per week, over 5 days. The role will involve working at both Barrack Lane and our branch surgery at Stoke Park and you will be based at Barrack Lane. Main Duties of the Job
* Undertaking a variety of administrative duties including clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the practice team.
* Entering data and read coding of relevant patient information and medical data into the clinical system.
* Processing practice post and emails.
* Scanning patient information into computerised records, including medical documents, hospital records and letters, as necessary.
* Matching documentation received from outside organisations onto patient medical records in a timely fashion.
* Allocating workflow for review by doctors or other health professionals.
* Processing pathology results following practice protocol.
* Working within our care navigator team.
* Handling enquiries efficiently.
About Us
Barrack Lane is a busy practice in the town centre of Ipswich, Suffolk. We have a practice population of over 20,000 patients. The practice is based on two sites, the main surgery in the centre of the town, and a branch surgery at Stoke Park. Our clinical team is made up of GP partners, salaried GPs, advanced nurse practitioners, advanced care practitioners, dietician, paramedics, physicians associate, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and a practice nursing team and HCAs. This team is supported by a strong administrative, coding and care-navigating team.
Barrack Lane is part of a PCN (Primary Care Network) with Ivry Street Medical Centre, in Ipswich, and the two practices cover a population of 32,000 patients. The PCN allows the practices to share resources and offer an enhanced service to our patients. The PCN employs care co-ordinators and social prescribers to work with patients, especially our vulnerable patients, to help them to access the best care.
Person Specification
Experience
* An experienced administrator, with excellent IT, time management and organisational skills.
* Can communicate effectively, working in a confidential and discreet manner.
* Able to multi-task, work efficiently and maintain a high level of attention to detail, when under pressure.
* Able to work calmly and efficiently in a fast paced environment, working well under pressure.
* Able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, as well as independently.
* Can work flexibly to cover colleagues holiday and occasional sickness.
* Primary care experience is desirable but not essential.
Qualifications
* Achieved grade 3 GCSE English & Maths.
