Job description
To support the Group Engineering function with:
Develop and manage Group Engineering Standards and Process Designs ensuring they remain fit for purpose and available to Operating Companies (OpCo).
Prepare Front End Engineering Design from Group Standards and OpCo requirements for major CAPEXs.
Provide Engineering expertise for minor CAPEX investment ensuring Fosroc Group Engineering standards are robustly adhered to.
Facilitate Fosroc Asset Management reviews with OpCos encouraging adoption and use.
Researching relevant new technologies and industry best practices promoting their inclusion for CAPEX projects/upgrades.
Improving Engineering and maintenance competency around the Group and delivery of the company Operations Academy.
Manage Group Engineering communication and promote knowledge sharing between OpCos.
Become the Engineering authority for functional projects ensuring Group Standard adherence.
This role offers the opportunity to develop to a Group Engineering level increasing responsibility and ownership for the function.ResponsibilitiesActively promote a strong Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) culture.
Perform all duties with a strong emphasis on HSE compliance.
Propose improvements / recommendations to address gaps and deficiencies.
Ensure Group Engineering Standards/recommendations align with relevant internal HSE requirements.
Develop Group Engineering Standards.
Promote use of Group Engineering Standards within the OpCos.
Develop Standards based on business need and Best Available Technology (BAT).
Review and revise current Standards based on continuous improvement feedback.
Develop Group Standards in line with company procedures and policies.
Provide Engineering support for locally managed CAPEX projects around the Group.
Support the local Engineering lead during all project phases.
Review Engineering designs and documentation for compliance.
Attend key project meetings and milestones where required (e.g., Weekly progress meetings, design workshops etc.).
Provide Engineering support to OpCos.
Support local Engineering and maintenance teams with general queries.
Facilitate (as required) root cause analysis for equipment breakdowns.
Support OpCo maintenance teams to deliver improvement plans based on assessments.
Assist development of maintenance improvement strategy and standards.
Act as subject matter expert for the Group.
Research and provide justification for new technologies improving business performance.
Manage Engineering and maintenance support network.
Increase communication and knowledge sharing between OpCos.
Provide training and coaching to Engineering teams around the group.
Lead internal Engineering projects (as required).
Lead internal Engineering projects following the Group methodology.
Maintain individual Continuous Development Plan.
Develop Engineering competency and expertise in the industry sector.
Identify and attend training courses relevant to business and personal growth.Skills requiredEssential:

Desirable:
Conversant in French.
Experience/qualification in Manufacturing/ Production or Continuous Improvement Environment/s.
Exposure to bulk handling/construction chemical environment.
Process Hazard Analysis techniques.
AutoCAD P&ID.Educational requirementsEssential:
Honours Degree in Engineering from an accredited university (min 2:1)
Desirable:
Chemical Engineering Honours Degree.
IOSH / NEBOSH certificate in General Safety.
NEBOSH certificate in process safety.Job role notesWorking Hours:
37 working hours per week
Monday to Thursday 08:30am to 5pm (1 hour unpaid break) and Friday 08:30am to 4pm (30 minute unpaid break)
