Arla Foods Oswestry are looking for a proficient CI Technician to join the team on a permanent basis. As a CI Technician, you will play an integral part in the efficient running of the packing lines in our Production area within a Cheese packaging site. You will be responsible for delivering operational standards within your area, responsible for reduction of unplanned downtime and increased line efficiency through systematic CI work. The Area Technician will also enable and coach Operators on technical standards, ensuring products such as Castello, BOB and Arla Pro are packaged in a timely manner so they can be distributed to all major UK retailers including Waitrose, M&S, Asda and Aldi.
How will you make an impact?
1. Ensures that their department complies with Arla’s standards in terms of Food Safety, H&S, Environment and carries out internal process confirmation to ensure compliance. Leads weekly CI meetings related to unplanned stops and top losses applying structured LEAN problem-solving tools and PDCA.
2. Actively work with the teams on CI improvement activities. Ensures improvement activities are quantified and reflected in improvement benefits trackers. Owns and tracks data for their area and actioning deviations including preventative maintenance.
3. Owns Operator Asset Care standards and competence development for teams.
4. Defines, process confirms and improves operational standards within area. Trains and coaches line teams to ensure performance according to operational standards.
5. Ensures a cost-efficient and stable production process with emphasis on SIC and KPIs. Participates in Daily Direction Setting meetings in order to drive performance.
6. Supports project implementation, technology and process upgrades. Builds a good working relationship with multiple internal and external functions.
The Core team gets support from all site functions including Planning, Maintenance & Engineering, QEHS and Operational Support for daily operations and improvement activities.
What will you need to succeed?
1. Previous experience within a manufacturing environment.
2. Knowledge of TPM, reliability & process improvement processes would be desirable.
3. Knowledge of Multivac and Weber would be desirable but not essential.
4. Experience in Lean/Six Sigma/KAIZEN or similar.
5. Excellent communication and people skills.
6. High levels of enthusiasm and a positive attitude to change & problem-solving.
