SEN Behaviour Support Worker – Huddersfield (Supply) Are you passionate about supporting young people with additional needs? Teaching Personnel is looking for a committed and empathetic Behaviour Support Worker to join our supply team, providing essential support across primary, secondary, and occasionally post-16 settings in Huddersfield and the areas nearby. Our partner schools and specialist provisions cater to pupils who require tailored educational approaches due to Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and other complex learning requirements. Many students hold an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) and benefit from structured, personalised interventions to help them thrive in an educational environment. This role will see you working directly with children and young people, helping them navigate challenges, develop key skills, and build resilience within a supportive school setting. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with school staff to implement personalised behaviour strategies that meet the individual needs of each pupil. Provide one-to-one and small group interventions to support emotional regulation, social skills, and self-esteem. Assist pupils in staying engaged with their learning, fostering a positive and inclusive educational environment. Support students in their reintegration into education following prolonged absences or disengagement. Work closely with SENCOs, teachers, and pastoral staff to create and deliver effective intervention strategies. Maintain a calm and structured atmosphere, using positive behaviour management techniques to support students effectively. About You: We are looking for individuals with experience in supporting children and young people across different educational phases, particularly those with additional needs. You should be patient, adaptable, and committed to making a positive impact in the lives of learners. Essential Requirements: Experience working with children or young people with SEN or SEMH needs in primary, secondary, or post-16 settings. A confident and proactive approach to behaviour management. Team Teach training (or a willingness to undertake this training). Flexibility to work across various schools and specialist provisions in Huddersfield.
