We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Infrastructure Engineer to join our IT team in Glasgow. As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a key role in managing and maintaining our company's IT infrastructure, ensuring its optimal performance, security, and efficiency. The successful candidate will possess a strong technical background, with expertise in PowerShell scripting, Active Directory, Azure AD, email security, Microsoft 365 policies, server management, networking, cloud platforms, and automation. In addition, excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the company's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and cloud platforms.
- Administer and troubleshoot Active Directory and Azure AD, ensuring user account management, security, and group policy compliance.
- Implement and maintain robust email security measures and policies to protect against threats and ensure data privacy.
- Monitor server performance and availability, perform system upgrades, and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute infrastructure projects, such as server migrations or cloud platform integrations.
- Provide technical support and guidance to level 1 support, addressing hardware and software issues promptly and efficiently.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, making recommendations for continuous improvement and optimization of the infrastructure.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent IT related certifications.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in infrastructure engineering or a similar role.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with Active Directory and Azure AD administration.
- Familiarity with email security solutions and best practices, including anti-spam, anti-phishing, and data loss prevention.
- In-depth understanding of Office 365 policies and administration, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Teams.
- Experience with server management, including VMWare ESXi and Windows Server distributions.
- Solid understanding of networking principles, protocols, and technologies.
- Proficiency in cloud platforms, such as Azure and cloud backup.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Certifications such as MCSE, Azure Administrator, or equivalent are a plus.
