The Head of Resource and Work Planning within SP Distribution is responsible for leading and developing a multi-disciplined team to build and deliver the rolling 3-month district work programme, ensuring maximum productivity and effective planning of direct resources.
What you’ll be doing
1. Develop and maintain a robust and coordinated direct resource plan over a 3-month horizon.
2. Embrace and integrate asset stewardship values through effective delivery and associated data capture.
3. Lead and drive continual performance improvement to ensure the efficient delivery of system performance targets.
4. Deliver district resource plan outputs derived from financial, regulatory, and business plan objectives.
5. Drive improvements in and accurately report on direct resource performance outputs.
6. Compliance with IBE/SPEN processes and procedures in line with business codes of practice.
7. Develop and promote an exemplary safety culture and ensure all safety legislation is implemented.
8. Lead and manage teams to ensure each individual’s potential is fully developed.
9. Develop formal resource training plan and manage training requirements for the team.

1. Proven experience of managing, motivating, coaching and developing teams.
2. Expert planning and programme management skills.
3. Ability to manage competing priorities using sound judgement.
4. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
5. Track record of effective stakeholder and customer service engagement.
6. Understanding key business drivers and the external commercial context.
7. Proven regulatory and commercial acumen.
To be successful, as a minimum you will demonstrate:
1. Planning/Professional qualification or equivalent experience.
2. Proven experience in a comparable managerial and planning role.
3. Computer literacy.
