Salary: Up to £61,000 dependent on skills and experience
Would you like to provide engineering and management expertise to the delivery of the Hunter Class Frigate programme, working alongside our multi-talented Detail Design Team in Glasgow and Australia? We currently have a vacancy for a Delivery Engineering Manager, within the Detail Design team at our site in Scotstoun.
As Engineering Manager you will manage the engineering resource and the delivery of engineering work and services using a multi-disciplinary Integrated Project Team. You’ll develop engineering design and production output data including overall management responsibility for either Stage 2 engineering team within cost, schedule, and quality targets.
Your main responsibilities as Delivery Engineering Manager will involve:
1. Working with the Head of Engineering/Project to deliver all aspects of the Detail Design deliverables including: Stage 2/3 Detail Design & Production Outputs, Change Embodiment, Production Queries & Non Conformance closure etc.
2. Delivery of engineering effort within boundaries of cost and schedule including; engineering planning, identifying resource demand and managing task execution.
3. Delivering support to staff training and development, and responsible for ensuring the continued professional development of assigned engineering resources.
4. Demonstrating a visible commitment to Quality and continuous improvement of Detail Design.
5. Providing a visible active commitment to SHE, leading by example and setting a high personal standard.
Your skills and experiences:
1. An experienced engineer with a moderate breadth of knowledge specifically within the Detail Design Discipline.
2. People management and leadership experience in a multi-disciplined engineering environment in the maritime sector or related industry.
3. An understanding of how activities of own teams interrelate and interact with other functional areas aligned to the same contract including interfacing with other Engineering Disciplines and other key stakeholders and functions. Experience of working successfully within the demands of a project, including the application of project metrics, EVM & LCM.
4. Awareness and understanding of all phases of LCM, with experience of total LCM to enable awareness of adjacent phases/through life engineering issues and Risk Management.
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Excellent IT skills particularly MS Project, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, JIRA, Windchill, FORAN.
