We are looking for an experienced senior finance professional to work closely with our CEO, providing financial insight, analysis and support.
You will oversee the financial management, operational efficiency, and commercial performance of the business, ensuring that key departments are held accountable and that financial and operational functions drive growth.
This position is open to both experienced Finance Directors and ambitious Financial Controllers or Heads of Finance looking to take the next step in their career.
This is a hands-on role, ideal for a finance leader who enjoys both strategic thinking and rolling up their sleeves to make an impact. It’s best suited to someone who thrives in a dynamic growing business, rather than those looking for a purely oversight-based position in a large finance team.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the finance department (team of 2), ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all operations.
* Develop and present insightful financial reporting to highlight key areas of focus, identify opportunities, and drive improved business performance.
* Prepare and present monthly management pack with recommendations.
* Challenge and optimize expenditure across the business, ensuring value for money and minimizing waste.
* Ensure financial systems, IT, and internal controls are efficient, up-to-date, and fit for purpose.
* Assist with investment analysis and financial due diligence.
* Act as the main point of contact for audits.
* Support international expansion by analysing routes to market.
* Oversee compliance including with international tax, duty, VAT, and financial regulations, using external advisors where required.
* Monitor, analyse and optimise supply chain and logistics costs to enhance profitability.
* Establish and track performance metrics to evaluate and continuously improve business processes.
Key Requirements
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
* Proven experience in a senior finance role within e-commerce, consumer goods, logistics or retail.
* Strong commercial acumen, with experience driving financial performance and holding departments accountable.
* Excellent communication and management skills.
* A track record of optimizing financial processes and operations to support growth and scalability.
* Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
* While international experience is not essential, we are looking for someone with the initiative and intellect to navigate global expansion, engage external advisors, and proactively solve challenges.
