Oxford County Council presents an exciting role for an experienced and compassionate individual to join a supportive and diverse team as a Leaving Care Personal Advisor within the Oxford area. You will be responsible for providing support, advice, and guidance to young people and adults aged between 17 and 25 years of age whilst they transition from care to independent living. You will help them to navigate the challenges of life after care and support their development and well-being.
This role is a full-time position, Monday-Friday, consisting of 37 hours a week with a competitive salary! The role is hybrid remote with at least 1-2 days in the office and the flexibility to be able to work from a range of different office locations across Oxford. It is important to note that this position is to cover maternity leave and therefore is a temporary role however, there is a possibility for extension.
What you'll need to succeed:
Minimum of 2 years' experience working with young people, particularly those in or leaving care, or in a related field.
Obtained NVQ Level 3 or Level 4 Social Care related or can evidence that you can work in a grade 10 role.
Enhanced DBS on the update service with adults' and children's barred list requested.
Good knowledge and understanding of legislation and regulations, for example, the Children Act (1989), Children's Rights, Care Act etc.
