Description To develop, own and lead on the Communications Strategy for the Scottish FA. The Head of Communications will work in conjunction with our Head of Marketing to define and finesse both pro-active communications that stimulate interest and endorsement of the association, as well as lead on re-active communications that both elevate and protect the brand reputation and perception of the Scottish FA. A critical Senior role, reporting directly to the Commercial Director. This role will play a key component in the strategic leadership and public facing profile of the Association. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement the Communications strategy for the Association in collaboration with the Commercial Director Oversee the creation and implementation of Public Relations Campaigns to enhance the associations visibility and reputation Develop and Implement communication strategies to keep staff informed and engaged Act as the Primary Spokesperson for the Association Lead and manage the Communications Team, creating a culturally unified environment which fosters people success. Own and manage a clear and documented communications calendar with pro-active campaigns that stimulate our Commercial Partners, and engage our support base Be a figurehead that links the Scottish FA and leading Media outlets to ensure the Scottish FA is represented fairly, and positively across both digital and written press. Be the principal point of contact with external governing bodies, namely UEFA & FIFA, to ensure the association has strong, credible relationships and we always act in accordance with UEFA regulations Work to amplify and elevate the Scottish FA voice and influence amongst external media outlets and Footballing Governing bodies (UEFA & FIFA) Collaborate and co-create a clear strategic plan to ensure our comms meets the needs of our suite of commercial partners and sponsors Lead the Team to deliver operationally against the media operations for all media activity, including matches, press conferences and special events Lead the Team to deliver media operation for Men’s senior national team participating in major tournament finals. Prioritise, and manage a volatile and unpredictable work-schedule to ensure that the Comms Team are delivering best-in-class output Develop and Implement crisis communications Plans to protect the organizations reputation Skills, Knowledge & Expertise Experience of a strategic leadership role with tangible success Experience of working in complex, fast moving industry Leadership experience, with clear evidence of successful promotion of talent Experience working and forging strong, influential relationships within Scottish media sector Critical grasp of changing media consumption, and evidence of in-depth understanding of both digital and written media Proven track record of leading communications campaign with high public scrutiny About Scottish Football Association The Scottish Football Association (also known as the Scottish FA) is the governing body of football in Scotland.
