Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Warehouse Assistant Manager to join our Client's team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient supply chain processes, and maintaining high standards of safety and productivity. This position requires strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of warehouse management systems, and the ability to manage logistics effectively.
Responsibilities
1. Oversee all staff duties in warehouse, distribution, and deliveries.
2. Load and unload trucks in line with company policy ensuring health and safety requirements are maintained and accurate records kept. Completing daily logs.
3. Keep the warehouse clean and tidy ensuring all items are stored correctly.
4. Using the appropriate machinery where required in line with the safe operation of machinery.
5. Follow safety procedures at all times including using the appropriate safety equipment.
6. Ensure building and assets kept to a high standard; security in place for building/stock etc; spot checks on high value items.
7. Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organisation standards.
8. Build company image by collaborating with customers, community organizations, and employees; enforcing ethical business practices.
9. Ensure that the warehouse is kept in a tidy and safe condition and that orders to and from the warehouse are correctly booked in and out. Cleaning and maintaining work area.
10. Loading and unloading trucks, order picking, wrapping products, packing, labelling, shipping and receiving.
11. Responsible for quality control to ensure that no damaged product is sent out.
12. Liaising with all Staff, Managers, Shipping Companies, Building security and landlord and wider team as required.
Experience
1. Previous experience in a warehouse distribution environment essential.
2. Management/Supervisory experience.
3. Very good communication skills / professional and positive attitude.
4. Effective time management and prioritising skills.
5. Demonstrable problem-solving and organisational skills.
6. Must be self-motivated with a positive can-do attitude enabling you to work unsupervised.
7. Ability to work well with others and build rapport with colleagues and customers.
8. Must have a current clean driving license (where required the 7.5T training).
9. Forklift skills not essential - Desirable.
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months
Pay: £30,000.00 per year
