Night Assistant Operations Manager) - Position Overview
Night Assistant Operations Manager required! My client is a leading UK logistics company, specialising in next-day and same-day delivery of air and sea freight. They are now looking for a Night Assistant Operations Manager to assist in the management of the night warehouse and transport operations in a cost-effective manner and adhere to all applicable Health & Safety policies and procedures.
(Night Assistant Operations Manager) - Duties and Responsibilities
To assist in the management all areas of the operations Warehouse relating to the night shift
To assist in the organisation and manage all staff providing the operational service needed both for internal and external customers.
To ensure the operation is pro-actively managed with resources well planned and allocated to each specific area.
Ensure contingency plans are developed, documented, and communicated.
Ensure all manual handling equipment / machinery is regularly serviced and fully maintained via liaison with MHE provider / RTITB registered in-house Trainer.
Liaise with senior management and ensure that they are informed of events, progress and activities on a regular basis
Train and develop staff as required to enhance skills and for career progression within the company
Ensure constant compliance with CAA regulations
De-brief any returning drivers from night shifts.
Supply detailed handover at the end of each shift (written and verbal).
In the future a set of KPI's and reports will be introduced and you will be expected to fill in these reports and your performance will be measured against the KPI's.
Flexibility in working days will be required to cover holidays and peaks in volumes.
Being on call as required to assist the night team.

Proven experience in the Logistics sector. Supervisory experience required.
In-depth knowledge of Logistics and Freight forwarding function.
Sound knowledge of Aviation Security.
Ability to handle pressure in unforeseen circumstances.
Flexibility in working hours.
Current Fork Lift Licence
Excellent people management skills.
Good influencing skills.
Procedurally proficient.
Ability to communicate at all levels.

Salary: £36,000 starting and then rising to £38,000 after a successful 6-month probation
Sunday to Thursday
18:00pm - 04:00am / 1-hour unpaid break / Contractual 45 hours per week
25 days plus bank holidays (33 in total)
1 month (after probation)
